Obituary For Terry Lee Moon

Terry Lee Moon, I received a call from my head dispatch, our Lord, on 7-5-2025. Logbook & paperwork in hand, I didn't hesitate to hammer down and head for home. At my home base, I leave in charge: Wife - Mary Kay, daughter - Rebecca Jo (Larry) Goettl, son - Preston (Peggy) Moon, Grandkids - Kaytlynn (Michael) DeCare, Laramie (Elizabeth) Goettl, Heidi (Jacob) Eschenburg, Amy Moon & Brandon Moon. Great grandkids - Luke, Olivia, Wyatt, Liam, Leila and Emma Rose, numerous nieces and nephews. Sisters and Brothers - Todd (Lodda) Moon, Tammy Moon, Talli (Ben) Franklin, Trudi (Tony) Fuzi, Trent Moon, and longtime childhood friend Bill (Sandy) King.

I was known for my kindness, generosity, humor and bringing home stray animals and humans alike. I never met a stranger, and built many lasting friendships in my 77 years. My generosity even got me into some hot water by taking a fellow Marines swim test, or the time I brought home a whole family that had a car breakdown. My wife was less than excited the time I called to tell her I was taking a hitchhiker home... to Florida.

I kept my family on their toes; from stray cats and dogs to abandoned ducks or a raccoon, life was never boring. Those who grew up around me will also recall "Terry's Time". My wife learned to tell me an hour earlier than an event was to start, and then I might only be an hour late from actual start time.

The adventurous life I led included 5 younger siblings, the Marine Corps, taxi driver, otr truck driver, ski instructor, friend, husband, dad and Bumpy.

I have finished my log book and turned off my truck. My mom & dad and the Dobermans have greeted me at the gates. I want to invite everyone to come celebrate my birthday on July 18, 2025 at 12pm at South Community Methodist Church on 115 with Cadillac Area Honor Guard doing military honors. This will be followed by a birthday party at The Moose on Boon Road. The family is being served by the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain. Mary Kay and family, Tammy, Talli and Ben, Trudy and Tony, Trent, Todd and Lodda and families...My heart is divided at the news of Terry's passing; A loss for us, but a win for Terry. Shadow has passed through the shadow and into the Light, no longer bound by the restraints of a failing body. His "keep on rolling" attitude was a strength we should all try to live by. Our deepest Sympathies and Prayers to all of you. Terry when the time comes, I will meet you at the river, by the trailer and we'll dive for a few more clams. Love, cousin Barb and Nancy.

Sending my sincere sympathy to all of Terry's family. You are suffering a great loss, but I hope you can find peace in knowing Terry is walking around in his cowboy boots, free from the chair that has been his transport lately. He is with his mom and dad once again, singing, swimming, hugging, and loving it all. May God hold you during this difficult time, and also comfort with the knowledge that you will be reunited in heaven.
