Teresa Lynn Baker, age 58, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 12, 2024 at home surrounded by family. She was born to Bradley & Karen (Ebels) Van Haitsma on June 19, 1965, in Cadillac, MI. Teresa married Gregory L. Baker on June 11, 1988 at Prosper Christian Reformed Church.
She is survived by her husband Gregory L. Baker of Falmouth, her son Zachary (Sarah) Baker, daughter Schuyler Baker and Jimmy Murata and son Lukas (Kandyce) Baker, sister/daughter Tara Putman, parents Brad & Karen Van Haitsma, brothers Aaron (Barb) Van Haitsma and Michael (Lisa) Van Haitsma and many nieces and nephews. Teresa loved the Lord and while she questioned why she was going thru treatments for brain cancer she never lost her faith in God.
Teresa was an artist and enjoyed making dolls one of which is on display in a museum in Sweden. She loved to collect stones and polishing them as well as painting delicate designs on them. She attended Mid-Michigan College and graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She worked as a receptionist at Southwest Medical in St. Joseph for several years before moving to Falmouth and bought a home on Dyers Lake. She always called this her happy place where she could take her three dogs for long walks, watch the sunset over the lake and the pontoon rides on the lake. She loved feeding the birds despite the bears making frequent visits to the feeders.
After moving back to Falmouth, she discovered the Falmouth Area Library and took on the job rescuing it and turning it into a modern and up to date library. This became her passion right up to the time she was diagnosed with cancer. She was a member of the Clam River Chapel in Falmouth.
