Shelly Renee Stout age 62 of Houghton Lake Heights passed away at her home on August 29, 2025. Shelly was born on February 12, 1963 to George and Carol (Watts) LaRoque in Orange County, California.

She was a home maker and enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, and every season she re-decorated her home. She could turn something worthless into a beautiful piece of work.

She is survived by her sons: Joshua LaRoque and his wife Stefanie of White House, Tennessee, and Dustin Cole and his wife Jennifer of Lake City, daughter: Amy Johnson and her husband Alvin of Big Rapids, son : Adam Stout and his husband Nicola of New York, and grandchildren: Ki’Jani Johnson, Ki”Xayvion, Robert Cole, Alyvia Cole, Kaytlynn Cole, Mariza Cole, Katelynn Hartman, Kaylie Hartman, and Khloe LaRoque, siblings: Judy (Michael) Doyle of Houghton Lake and George (Kim) LaRoque of Manton.

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents, first husband: Dan Cole, and a special dog Lydia.
