Robert James Thompson age 32 of Redding Township, Marion, passed away on September 21, 2024 at the Comfort Home in Reed City from ALS. He was born on March 9, 1992 at Holland to Robert Jr. and Pamela Caldwell. He married Chantelle Alberts on August 26, 2023 at LeRoy.

Robert had worked as a sandblaster at Truck Customs in Marion. He enjoyed playing video games, his dogs and other pets, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife; Chantelle Thompson of Marion, daughter; Allisyn Thompson of Marion, stepchildren; Gavon New and Gabryella New of Marion, parents; Robert Thompson Jr. of Cedar Springs and Pamela (Mike) Cutting of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, step-father; Michael Cutting of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, father-in-law; Curtis Alberts of LeRoy, mother-in-law; Corinna Gunerson of Marion, siblings; Ashleigh Vanderlaan of the Grand Rapids area, Morgan Cutting of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Ivory Cutting of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Hailey Thompson of Newago and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; George and Lucy Cutting.
