Obituary For Orlo Ray Harris

Orlo Ray Harris, age 74 of Cadillac, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 3, 2025. He was born on March 24, 1951 to Ralph and Edith (Lamphere) Harris at Pontiac, MI. On August 6, 1994 Orlo married Myrtle Jean Wonsey at Lake City and she preceded him in death on December 16, 2018.

Orlo worked for AAR Manufacturing in Cadillac for many years and eventually retired from there. He loved doing outdoor activities such as, hunting, fishing and walking his dogs around the lake. He was a member of the Harvest Worship Center in Cadillac, enjoyed time spent with family and loved ones.

He is survived by his children; Vernon Harris of Flint, Jowlen Harris of Davisburg, step-sons Edwin Taylor of Lansing and David Taylor of Lake City, grandchildren; William, Drake, and Matthew Robertson, Ryan, Nicholas, Tyler, and David Harris. In-laws; Grace Dykhouse of McBain, Ronald “Butch” Wonsey of Lake City, Margaret Lucas of McBain, and Richard Racine of Cadillac, as well as favorite niece April (Kurt) Moggo and many other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws: George and Donald Wonsey, Richard Lucas, Henry Dykhouse and Clarence (Carol) Hoffman, Joyce (Dee) Lamphere, Monika Wonsey, and Marjorie Racine, and nephew Stefan Wonsey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 10 at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain with Pastor Mike Green officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9 at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain from 4pm-7pm and one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Burial will take place in Mount View Cemetery in McBain.     Orlo will be very missed! He taught me a lot when I worked with him at AAR and always wanted to hear about how my kiddos were doing. We kept in touch after he retired and sent each other Christmas cards. So sorry to hear of the loss of him, sending prayers and love to the family.
