Michelle Louise Bowen-Quist, age 65 of McBain, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Munson Healthcare Traverse City Hospital. Michelle was born on August 10, 1960 in Cadillac, MI to Peter and Camille (Mace) Schierbeek. She married Douglas Bowen and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2007. She then married Don Quist on August 24, 2019 and he also preceded her in death on July 23, 2023.

Michelle is survived by her daughter, Jessica Bowen (Marty) Normand, grandchildren Destiny (Ryan) Ames and Carter Garcia, step- grandchildren, Tyler Normand and Riley Normand, great-grandson Ryan Ames, siblings, Suzanne (Larry) Stahl, Giselle (John) Walker, Jacques (Sonya) Schierbeek, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended Bowen and Quist families.

She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Camille, siblings, Pierre Schierbeek, Jean-Rene Schierbeek and Monique Branch.

Per Michelle’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family will be holding a celebration of life gathering at 2:00 on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Adam Barton officiating, there will be a time of fellowship after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made out to the Vogel Center CRC building fund.
