Lester Jay Mulder, age 82 of McBain, went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2025 at his home. Lester was born to Tony R. and Jeanette (Westdorp) Mulder on March 31, 1943 at the family home. On July 11, 1964, Lester entered into marriage with Diane Boonstra and enjoyed 61 years of marriage together.
After graduation from McBain High School he moved to Grand Rapids to work as a painter for a few years before moving back north to work at Cadillac Malleable Iron for 17 years, at that time he started his own painting business which he continued to do until present time. He was a member of McBain Baptist Church where over the years he served as deacon, drove Sunday school bus and helped with the AWANA program. He loved the outdoors and was a skilled hunter and trapper, he took a nice buck the morning of his last day on this earth. He loved his wife and family and was devoted to them entirely; he was a man of unquestionable character.
He is survived by his loving wife Diane Mulder, children Leston (Monica) Mulder, Heidi (Tim) Kitchen, grandchildren Daniel (Stephanie), Sharon (Josh), Briar (Angie), Nick (Fiancé Sage), Braden (special friend Clarity) great- grandchildren Mavereck, Alexis, Graylie and Hudson, sister Marilyn (Rich) Fredericks, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tony R. and Jeanette Mulder, brother Keith Mulder, sister Leona Mulder, and infant brother Jerry Mulder.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 25 at the McBain Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Boven officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00PM-7:00PM at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday. A luncheon will take place after the service at the church. Burial will take place in the Vogel Center cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to the McBain Baptist Church.
