Obituary For Joyce Elaine Kelley

Joyce Elaine Kelley was called home to be with her Lord and family on October 21, 2024. She was a loving, caring compassionate Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great -Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. Tirelessly devoted to her family.

Joyce was born on February 10, 1936, in Webberville MI to Miles and Adah (Baughn) Hubbard. One of nine siblings. She was a graduate of Marion High School class of 1954. Joyce worked at Riverside Restaurant from 8th grade until she graduated high school. She worked at Bernie's Foodliner from 1954 to 1961. She married James Duane Kelley on July 13, 1958. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies, crafting and sewing. Making many clothes for her children and self.

Joyce had an active role in the Girl Scouts Organization for over 15 years. She was very active in her church Community of Christ. She was a teacher at Park of the Pines Family Camp for many years. Taking her grandkids along with her. Joyce also helped with the Marion branch church Hunter’s Supper for over 70 years.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with her siblings when they had the opportunity to get together. She and Jim loved to travel, visiting Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and especially liked going to the Grand Canyon area.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years James Kelley, 5 children Rebecca (Bryan) Martinson, Ronald Kelley (Peggy), Mary Austin (Mark Taylor), Jean (Lonnie) Pluto, Valerie (Norman) Holbrook. 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great- Great Grandchild. 2 sisters Sandra (Dorian) Dobias and Beverly (Bill) Kibby. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Miles and Ada Hubbard, her In-Laws James and Jessie Kelley, brother Carlton Hubbard, sisters Shirley Dodds, Carol and husband Don Gilmore, Barbara Bielby, Mary and husband Wes Bueker, Sharon Hubbard and brother in-law Charles Kelley.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Joyce will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Community of Christ Church in Marion MI with Pastor Amy Bridson and Chaplain Dave Siddell officiating. Lunch will be provided following the service. The family will be present to receive visitors from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery of Marion.
