Joann Lucille Gunnerson, age 92 of Lake City, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2023 after a lengthy illness, and over two years on hospice.Joann was born on March 3, 1931 to Aden and Lucille Dill in Schoolcraft County in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan, but lived in the Cadillac area most of her life. She married Phil Gunnerson in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1999. She is also preceded in death by a son, Hoss Gunnerson, grandson Sam Gunnerson, granddaughter, Lisa Gunnerson, and two sisters. Joann is survived by 5 children, Joe (Theresa) Gunnerson, Gary (Linda) Gunnerson, Gay Schwartz, and Linda Gunnerson of Lake City, and Carla (David) Palosaari of Calumet, Michigan, and a sister, Irene McKnight of Kingman, Arizona. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Joann was a talented oil painter and seamstress and found great joy in those hobbies. She was very grateful to hospice and all the family members who helped to care for her so she could remain at home during her last years, and enjoyed sharing her hope of life again in a paradise earth. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 5P.M. e.s.t. at the Lake Township Hall at 8105 West Kelly Road, Lake City,Michigan. This will be live on Zoom with Seth Palasaari officiating.
