Janice Lee Jeffers, age 74, of Manton passed away on August 25, 2025 at home surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on August 3, 1951 in Cadillac to Marvin and Mildred Jenema. She married Steven Jeffers on August 8, 1970 at Prosper Christian Reformed Church, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2016.
Janice had driven school bus for Falmouth Elementary School and Cadillac HeadStart for over 25 years. She enjoyed crocheting, going to the casino, bowling, traveling, making wreaths, and spending time with friends and family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Janice was very generous with her time and was a caregiver to multiple family members.
She is survived by her children; Rebecca (Chad) Jenema of Marion, Jeremiah (Brandy) Jeffers of Manton, Joshua Jeffers of Manton, David (Fernanda) Jeffers of Okemos, Michigan, grandchildren; Tyler and Trent Neal, Jacob, Alexander, and Emilee Jeffers, Jaelynn, Joel, and Vincent Jeffers, Camille (Alex) Cooper, Beatriz and Edward Jeffers, great grandchildren; Atlas and Levi Cooper, Mabel Jeffers, siblings; Greg (Cindi) Jenema of Vancouver, Washington and Kevin (Marge) Jenema of Linden, Michigan, Tim (Shelly) Jeffers of Manton, Ken Sparks of Manton, Cindy (John) Lovell of Manton, Wendy Jeffers of Manton, Tim (Melonie) Robbins of Manton and many nieces and nephews/
Janice was preceded in death by her husband Steven Jeffers, son Richard Jeffers, parents Marvin and Mildred Jenema, sister and brother in-law Linda and Ralph Vanderwal, sister in-law Sue Sparks, mother in-law Verona Jeffers, and father in-law Maynard Jeffers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Free Methodist Church in Manton at 11:00 AM with Karl Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery in Manton. Memorial contributions can be made to the family to be used to purchase needed items for HeadStart. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
