Obituary For James "Jim" Peter Ritsema

James Peter Ritsema, age 65 of Marion passed away at his home on July 1, 2024 following a short illness. He was born on April 9, 1959 in Grand Rapids to Peter and Lois (Quist) Ritsema.

He had worked at Herman Millers as a machine operator for many years. He enjoyed hunting, trapping turtles and river fishing.

He is survived by his sons; Jacob (Crystal) Ritsema and Dustin (Courtney) Ritsema both of Allegan. His mother; Lois Ritsema of Zeeland, special friend; Shirley Parsell of Marion, grandchildren; Marshall Ritsema, Jess Ritsema, Alexis Ritsema, Kaylee Ritsema, Evan Ritsema and Dylan Ritsema, siblings; Pete Ritsema of Big Rapids and Joanie Yonkers of Allegan.

He was preceded in death by his father; Peter Ritsema.

Jimmy was a regular visiter to our deer hunting shack in Vogel Center. We shared many meals with Jimmy during deer season, hunting with him and he allowing us to hunt on his property. Lots of memories about the big bucks he sees and pictures of ones his son got in Allegan. We will miss Jimmy.
