James Dale Littlefield age 77 of Hersey, Michigan, passed on October 17, 2023 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids with his wife Cindy, kids, Tim, Becky, Kathy, and Travis by his side. James was born on January 20, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana, to Frank and Marian (Forton) Littlefield. He married Cynthia Deuel on September 8, 2012 in the Sylvan Community Church in Evart.
James was in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966, and was honorably discharged. He was Chief of Police in Evart in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He started his own welding shop. He volunteered at the Reed City Police Department from 2010 to 2016. He started the Honor Guard. He loved being in the work shop with his boys, Tim G. and Travis, when they are around. He loved his great grandkids, Eveleigh and Jackson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, children; Tim (Michelle) Littlefield, Becky Littlefield, Kathy (Brian) Diffenbaugh, Timothy Littlefield, Travis Eisenga, and Nicole Eisenga, grandkids; Jon (Paige) Littlefield, MaKayla Colombo, Ashleigh Davis (Andrew), Daulton Diffenbaugh, Cayden Eisenga, Wyatt Eisenga and Chase Cushman, great grandkids; Jackson Littlefield and Eveleigh Littlefield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Marian Littlefield, two brothers; Gary Littlefield and Robert Littlefield, and a grandson; Timothy Littlefield.
A visitation will be held on November 4, 2023 at the VFW Post in Reed City from 12 noon to 4:00 P.M. with a service at 1:00 PM. officiated by Rev. Pat Robinson. Burial will take place in the Chase Township Cemetery.
