Ellen Louise Mosher age 86 of McBain passed away on December 2, 2023 at Munson Healthcare-Cadillac Hospital. Louise was born on December 24, 1936 in Riverside Township, Missaukee County to Thomas and Lillie (Hotchkiss) VanderWoude.

Louise worked most of her years and had received an associate’s degree from Mid- Michigan College. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and canning. Louise had worked at Walmart as a cashier, switch board operator for the phone company in Lansing, worked at J.C. Penney in Cadillac and had milked cows.

She survived by three children; Robert (Paula) Mosher of Hertford, North Carolina, Michele Mosher of New York, New York and Karl T. (Jodi) Mosher of McBain, grandchildren; Kalli (Andrew) Fick of Valley Springs, SD and Jordan (Lydia) Mosher of Colorado Springs, Colorado, step grandchildren; Hank (Jennifer) VanHorn of Washington, N.C. and Jonathan Ryan VanHorn of Virginia Beach, Va. and step great grandchildren; Hannah VanHorn of Illinois and Keria VanHorn of Washington, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her siblings; William T. (Elda) VanderWoude, George Lee (Joyce) VanderWoude, and Charles Lewis (Jerry) VanderWoude.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain with burial in the Mount View Cemetery at McBain. Reverend Adam Barton will officiate at the service. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
