Edwin William Fockler 68, passed away from medical illness August 4, 2025 at his nieces AFC Home in Lake City, MI. Edwin was born on January 27, 1957 to Franklin Fockler and Geraldine Berndt.
Edwin graduated from Manton High School in 1975 after school Edwin started working at Cadillac Rubber & Plastics, he also worked in the Christmas trees most his life as Christmas was Edwin’s favorite holiday. Edwin also worked for Manton Rescue Squad, he worked at Wash and Go carwash in Cadillac, then found a love of Adult Foster Care work working for LTSS and then his nieces AFC Homes.
Edwin had a love for raising money for the Jerry Lee Lewis Foundation, he was a member of the Manton Snowdevils club, and a little league baseball coach. In his spare time, he played bingo and you could find him in a chair at the machines or card table in the casinos. Edwin became ill from getting immunizations to work at the first AFC home he worked in which caused his health complications, where he incurred many infections and the result of losing one of his legs, though this did not get Edwin down, he continued to work as much as he could until his body wouldn’t allow it. Edwin did not let his health take control of him; he always enjoyed life the best he could.
Edwin is survived by his sons Jason (Mark) Hubbard of Tennessee, and Dylan Fockler of Lake City, his sisters Cynthia (Paul) Johnson of McBain, Lisa Murray and Renee Scofield, brothers Allan Fockler and Troy Manning, nieces Aimee (Jeff) Shurlow of Lake City, great nephew Jordan (Paige) Trumble of Lake City, great nieces Kelsey (Ashton) Trumble of Lake City and Mackenzie Shurlow of Lake City along with great -great nephew Wesson Downing of Cadillac and great- great nieces Avery Myers and Oaklynn Trumble both of Lake City, and many other family members and special friends who were close to his heart.
Edwin was preceded in death by his father Franklin Fockler, step mother Ilene Fockler, mother Geraldine McLeod, and step father Hubert McLeod and a baby sister Linda Diane Fockler. The family would like to thank the AFC staff at Hickory Hill AFC Home for the great quality and compassionate care they gave Edwin, along with Munson Home Care (nurse Brianna) and Area on Aging Agency out of Traverse City. Per Edwins wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.
