Obituary For Douglas Lee Hoffman

Douglas Lee Hoffman, age 74 of McBain, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 28, 1950 in Cadillac to Carl and Vivian (Boyce) Hoffman. On January 15, 1977 Douglas married Joanne Beth Lutke at the McBain Christian Reformed Church.

Doug liked spending time working on automobiles, woodworking, and camping. He was member of the McBain Baptist Church where he and Joanne were custodians for many years, he also took care of the bus maintenance and also drove the bus for Awana. He also found joy in doing scratch-off tickets, his daily routine after work was stopping at WESCO for his Pepsi and lotto tickets. Doug really enjoyed being a grandpa to his grandchildren.

Doug is survived by his wife Joanne B. Hoffman of McBain, children; Darci (Matt) Plumley of Sumner, Brandi Hoffman of McBain, grandchildren; Addison Plumley, Bianca Plumley, Brenden Russell, and AvaRayn Russell, brother Pete (Kara) Hoffman of South Carolina, In-Laws; Esther Barber of McBain, Karen (Don) DeRuiter of Lake City, Bob (Pam) Lutke of McBain and Carol (Jim) Lutke of Manton as well as many nieces and nephews.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, step-brothers; Art Hancock and Dick Hancock, brother in-law Bill Barber.

The family will hold a private committal service for Doug at the Mount View Cemetery in McBain. The family is being served by the Burkholder Family Home in McBain, thoughts and prayers can be expressed to the family by visiting the online obituary at burkholderfamilyfuneralhome.com.
