Obituary For Donna Mae Lucas

Donna Mae Lucas, age 87 of McBain, was called to her Heavenly home on Friday, February 7, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1937 to Harry and Marjorie (Hoekwater) Bogard in Clam Union Township. On September 21, 1956 Donna married her high school sweetheart David Raymond Lucas and they were blessed with four children, Pamela, Jeffrey, Mary and Philip.

Donna worked at the Cadillac State Bank for many years, even though the bank changed ownerships a few times she officially retired in 1991. She enjoyed being outside, spending time maintaining her yard and flower beds. Donna really loved to mow lawn; she was doing that yet through last summer. She was thrilled with her time she spent with her kids and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband David Lucas, children; Pamela (Matt) O’Donnell of Marquette and Philip (Deanna) Lucas of McBain, grandchildren; Ian, Kyle and Shaun O’Donnell, Danielle Edburg, Brittany Horrigan, Andy (Kaylee) Lucas and Austin Lucas, in-laws; Betty Meyering, Ruth (Rich) Stahl, Nella Eisenga, Harvey (Ev) Lucas, and Charles A. Farr.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Jeffrey Lucas, daughter Mary Lucas, brother Homer (Mae) Bogard, sister Marian Farr, in-laws; Harold Meyering, Alvin and Pearl Tacoma, Benjamin Eisenga, Dean and Carol Lucas.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 5-7PM at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain. Burial will take place in the Richland Township Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
