Betty Lou Wagner, age 90 of Merritt, passed away at Munson Healthcare Cadillac on February 6, 2023. Betty was born on March 30, 1932 to Homer and Mable (Dorland) McLeod on the family farm on Turnerville Road. She married Claude Roger Wagner on June 7, 1953 in Cadillac and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Betty enjoyed sewing, quilting and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her children; Chopper Wagner of Higgins Lake, Kelly (Michael) Robinson of Houghton Lake and Stacy (Margie) Wagner of Merritt, along with grandchildren; Philipp Robinson, Erin (Micheal) Dykgraaf and Amy Wagner, and great grandchildren; Erica Smith, Jeremiah Wagner, Maxwell Dykgraaf, Emelia Dykgraaf, and Evalette Dykgraaf. She has one brother surviving Jack McLeod of Lake City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Mac McLeod, Sonny McLeod, Ben McLeod, Bernice (Bernie) Vanderlaan and Donna Kerns.

Betty’s wish was to be donated to Michigan State University and services will be held at a later date. Final resting place will be with Claude in the Butterfield Township Cemetery.
