Barbara Ann Boven age 79 of Lake City passed away on July 19, 2024 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Barb was born on August 12, 1944 in Marion to Wesley and Nancy (Boven) VanHaitsma. She married Clayton Jay Boven on September 9, 2016 in Lake City.
Barb and Clayton attended the Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas. She enjoyed flower gardening, doing crafts and wintering in Florida.
She is survived by her husband; Clayton Jay Boven of Lake City, children; James Tompkins of Lake City, Rick Tompkins of Bemidji, MN, son-in-law; David Hesselink of Cadillac, stepchildren; Anita Boven (Jerome Roys) of Lake and Michelle (Bryan) Magnus of Traverse City, 5 grandchildren; Heather (Brandon) Reddick, Joshua Hesselink (Lori Carlson), Dylan Hesselink, Kylie Tompkins, and Cameron Tompkins, 4 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, siblings; Kenneth (Wanda) VanHaitsma of Redford, and Brance (Dee) Parker of Destin, Florida, in-laws; Jerry (Joyce) Boven Marion and Arnold (Linda) Dodde of Evart.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, step-sister; Lynne Coffel, daughter; Cheryl Hesselink, sister-in-law; Janice Dodde.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas with Rev. Kathy Vana officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. A luncheon will follow services at the church and burial will follow at the Falmouth Cemetery.
