Muriel Melvina Goodrich

Muriel Melvina (Snyder) Goodrich, age 84, passed away June 1, 2018 with family surrounding her at home. She was born July 2, 1933 to Earl and Mary Snyder in Clare County. Muriel married Carroll Herbert Goodrich February 3, 1951 in Temple, MI.
Muriel was a very hardworking woman being a farmer’s wife and a mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, planting a garden, harvesting with canning and freezing, picking blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries, crocheting, sewing, creating craft projects, caring for family, and friends. She had a very giving heart and thought of others before herself. The last few years of her life she suffered with dementia and lost her desire to continue doing the things she loved, but she always had a cheerful smile when she had visitors come to see her. She very much enjoyed ALL the children that came over. She also volunteered with the Meals on Wheels.
Muriel is survived by her very loving, kind hearted, devoted husband of 67 years of marriage, Carroll H. Goodrich, her son, Frank (Linda) Goodrich of Marion, daughters, Mary (James) Futia of Beaverton, Sue (James) Marsh of North Dakota, Ruth (Delray) Gugle of North Dakota, Marjorie (Charles) Fisher of Marion, and daughter in-law Vicki Goodrich of Gladwin. Grandchildren surviving are, Tammy, Clark, Corene, Agatha, John, Renee, Tim, Amy, Bob, Annette, Pam, Penny, Jennifer, Justin, Jeanette, Jason, Mindy, Ashley, Dawn, Dusty,  Shawn, Taylor, Abigail, Daniel, and several great grandchildren. Her sister Della Miller of Lake also survives. She was preceded by her oldest son in February 2017, Carl H. Goodrich, grandsons Christopher, Joshua, Wyatt, and granddaughter Kaydance. Sisters Janie Saines, Maxine McNinch, Myrtle Welch, Minnie Statfield, Nancy Kinsbury, Audrey Humphrey. Brothers Lyle Henry, Fred Snyder, Bill Snyder, Clarence Synder, Alvin Henry, Art Synder, Tommy Snyder.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 1:00 P.M. at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Marion, Muriel’s final resting place. Reverend William Dyke will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain and one hour prior to the funeral service.
