Wendy Jo Quist

Wendy Jo Quist, of McBain, passed away at her home, May 25, 2018. She was born March 29, 1958 to Larry Carlis and Janette Theresa (Reschel) Hanifan at Troy, Michigan. She married Donald Quist March 27, 1998 at the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church. Wendy loved her family and especially her grandkids. She retired from Mercy Hospital in Cadillac with over 20 years of service. She had a green thumb and loved tending to her large garden, yard & houseplants. She loved canning vegetables and making homemade pies, and even made her own maple syrup. She was an avid deer hunter and loved camping and kayaking. Wendy was very connected to nature in general. She was a very talented photographer of nature and turned her talents into works of art. She adored her pets Cayo and Whiskey. Wendy is survived by her parents; Larry and Jeanette Hanifan, husband; Donald Quist, daughters; Jennifer (Andrew) Rossell, Mellissa Henry, step-daughters and step-son; Betsy (Ryan) Martin, Travis (Sara) Quist, Sarah (Paul) Robinson, Kenda (Daren) Gernaat, Wendy’s sisters are; Marie (Chris) Gregoroff, Sandy Yerrick, and her 16 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Paul Henry and step grandson Colton Martin. A memorial graveside service will be held at Vogel Center Cemetery, on Saturday, June 9 at 3 p.m. with Father Joe Fix officiating. A luncheon will be held after the service at the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church.
