Robert Dean Taylor

Robert Dean Taylor, age 83, of McBain went home to be with his Lord on October 27, 2017, at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born on March 19, 1934, at the Taylor family farm in Lucas, to Clayton and Katie (Elenbaas) Taylor. He married Yvonne May Beckelic on Dec. 12, 1952, at the Cadillac United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2011. Bob married Paula May Haysmer on Aug. 18, 2012 at the Lucas Rehoboth Reformed Church. For over 40 years he owned  Bob’s  Electric and Heating in Lucas. He had served in the Army National Guard of Michigan from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of the Lucas Rehoboth Reformed Church. He was the past president and cofounder of the Northwest Michigan Association of Builders and Contractors. He was a member of the Cadillac Elks 680 and enjoyed golfing, gardening, reading, hunting, was a great cook, a huge Tiger fan, and was active in sports when he was in McBain Public High School. He was a MSU fan and liked to joke with his brother Jerry who was a U of M fan. He had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Paula May Taylor of McBain, five children, Tim (Jan) Taylor, Tom (Karen) Taylor all of McBain, Rick Taylor of Howell, Kathie (Richard) Gengler of Falmouth and Terry (Kathy) Taylor of McBain. He has four step children, Dennis (Lisa) Haysmer of Sterling Heights, Andrea Haysmer of Tecumseh, Jana (Doug) Langworthy of Cadillac, and Roger (Arielle) Haysmer of Tecumseh. There are 30 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Bob’s siblings are, Jerry (Louise) Taylor  and Marge Quist both of McBain, in laws, Grace Pluger, Betty Taylor, Pearl Taylor and Hankie Taylor all of McBain. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by, a daughter, Brenda Ouwinga, a son, Randy Taylor, granddaughter, Elizabeth Taylor, siblings, Kay (Ray) Schepers, Mae (Al) Pluger, Sharon Taylor, Vernon Taylor, Lawrence Taylor and Jim Taylor, in law, Ivan Quist  many Beckelic relatives also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October, 31, 2017, at the Lucas Rehoboth Reformed Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rod Kamrath officiating and burial will take place in the Lucas Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain and one hour prior to services at the Church. Cadillac Elks Lodge 680


Paula, Bob's Life membership and support of the Cadillac Elks Lodge 680 will be missed. His quiet dignity was respected by our members. He will be celebrated on 3 Dec during our annual Memorial Service. To our departed Brother, RIP.
